Several years ago, Michigan Museums Association received an IMLS (Institute for Museum & Library Service) grant so that we could assess the state of Michigan’s collections in museums and libraries.
Surveys were sent to over 1000 libraries and museums asking questions about how collections are cared for and managed.
This pdf is a summary report of the responses from respondents regarding their collections successes and challenges.
This grant was generously supported by Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs (MCACA), IMLS, and Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University.
