MMA Ask An Expert:Keeping Digital Collections Safe (For Free!) with MDPN Coordinator Chelsea Denault
Wednesday, February 12
2 pm
As part of their National Leadership Grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services, the Michigan Digital Preservation Network (MDPN) is offering free or subsidized storage in their preservation network for digital collections that can be considered at-risk or that document underrepresented communities. Awardees will also receive free one-on-one training on how to use the MDPN's preservation service. You do not have to be an MDPN member to apply.
Join MDPN Coordinator Chelsea Denault for an informative session to learn about why digital preservation is an important part of digital collections stewardship, understand the goals of the storage grant in the context of MDPN’s IMLS grant, review the application, learn about the evaluation process, and gain insight into what will happen after a project is selected to receive support. There will be time for a Q & A session, as well as help with filling out applications if needed.
Location: The MMA Zoom account. You can join via phone or the internet. Instructions for connecting will be sent with your registration confirmation.
The session will be facilitated by Natalie Pantelis, Programs Coordinator for the Michigan Museums Association.
The Michigan Museums Association is supported in part by an award from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
